- In Canada we have The Coin Show, on The Shopping Network. https://www.tsc.ca/pages/productresults?nav=N:2050767Steven Bromberg is always saying that he bought a hoard at an Estate Sale. Now I wonder if he did or not.
- There's a guy on eBay right now in West Virginia who has a ton of coins listed that he says came from an enormous old safe found in a 200+ year old pottery store during demolition. The former store owner was supposedly an avid coin collector. He shows a photo of a decrepit old building made of cinder blocks that doesn't appear anywhere near 200 years old. He also has a photo of an open bag of coins spilling out of a safe onto the floor, but if you zoom in a bit they all appear to be run of the mill Washington quarters. He has over 800 coins listed, including scads of Barbers, capped busts, some gold coins, Morgans, etc. Many of the coins appear to be in beautiful condition. People are bidding on most of the coins, but it's hard to believe he could have so many old coins in such great condition. He's only got 3 negative ratings in the last 12 months, however.
- Is there a good place to buy hoards?
- There's a scam out there for everybody. If you think "not me" you're just next.
