  • Very important!! Your featured coin is not a cud it's a die chip. A cud is a piece of a die that has completely broken away. It starts as a crack from the rim into the field and continues back to the rim. Then as more coins are struck it completely breaks away leaving a void. Cuds are rare and valuable. Die chips can be anywhere in the interior of the die and are common and cheap. Remember a cud extends from the rim into the field like someone took a bite from the die lol. Hope this helps
